BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) is a widely used international environmental assessment method for buildings which has become a key tool in describing a building's environmental performance.
LEED
LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, used to verify that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across a range of metrics.
European Tools and Legislation
EPCs
EPCs (Energy Performance Certificates) are certificates generated following an assessment which provides a rating for the energy efficiency of a building. EPCs are now a legal requirement when buildings are bought, sold or rented within Europe.
DECs
Display Energy Certificates (DECs) are required for public buildings and show the actual energy usage of a building, which is then displayed in view of members of the public.
