Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004

Part 2 of the Act[1] makes it mandatory for the Local Planning Authority to:
  • consider matters that affect planning and necessary development in areas with their jurisdiction;
  • as a matter of policy directive and good and sustainable practice, take into consideration the physical, economic, social and environmental characteristics of the area
