Reducing emissions from road vehicle fleets
DESCRIPTION
This workshop will look at a range of techniques to reduce emissions from vehicle fleets, together with case studies from the SEEDA region.
STRUCTURE
Topics covered will include:
• The basics – good practice in car and van fleet management
• Minimising mileage
• Alterative fuels: pros and cons
• Fuelling Infrastructure assessment
• Driver buy-in to concept
• Running small fleets on locally sourced fuels
• Case studies from fleets using biofuel mixes
• Fuel additives and increasing efficiency
• Efficiency and maintenance issues
• Working with employees to reduce carbon emissions from commuting
• Logistics and Route Planning
• The EST's 'Green Fleet Review'
• Greening vehicle procurement - vehicle selection and specification
• The EU's 'Green Fleets' initiative
• Training in Environmental Fleet Management
• The PR and communications benefits of greening your fleet
This will be followed by an open discussion.
