Keith House

Leader of Eastleigh Borough Council and SEEDA board member

Keith House has been Liberal Democrat Leader of Eastleigh Borough Council in Hampshire since 1994.  He is a member of Hampshire County Council and holds the Shadow Cabinet Environment portfolio. On the regional stage, Keith served as the Chair of the South East England Regional Assembly from its launch in January 1999 to July 2000 and is now a Board member of the South-East’s Regional Development Agency, SEEDA, a member of the Regional Planning Committee and the Regional Housing Board.  He Chaired the Local Government Association’s Planning Executive from 1999 to 2001 and 4ps, the Public Private Partnerships Programme, from 2002 to 2005. 

Keith is also a Town Councillor, a Board Member of Barton Peveril College in Eastleigh, and an honorary member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.  He has extensive experience supporting emerging democracies, assisting the development of political parties in eastern Europe and as an international election observer in the republics of the former Soviet Union and central Asia.
