Test Valley Sign the Nottingham Declaration

Test Valley Borough Council - for whom tEC provide sustainability outsourcing services - have signed the Nottingham Declaration on climate change - committing to reduce energy usage and the related emissions. For more information, see here.

 

Free Insulation for the over 70's

Numerous grants are currently available to help with the cost of loft and cavity wall insulation. Currently, these grants cover 100% of the cost for those over 70, who own their own house, or are privately renting (dependent upon landlord's permission). The funding for this scheme comes from DEFRA, under the Carbon Emission Reduction Target (CERT) Scheme. Discounts are also available for those under 70.

Sustainable Business Awards 2008

The 2008 Sustainable Business Awards will be launched in June, with the Awards ceremony planned for November 2008.  Keep an eye on www.the-sbp.co.uk for further details and use the next few months to make those sustainability changes so that you too can be an award-winning business!

 

Grants for Green Power Generation

The Government has announced that it has awarded grants totalling £25 million for micro wind turbines and solar panels. The grants have been awarded to homes schools and businesses to install technologies such as solar power, biomass boilers and ground souce heat pumps. The grants are awarded on a first come first serve basis and applications can be submitted at any time. More information can be found here.
